About Janix
Built by organizers who have felt every pain you have.
Janix exists because the people who built it spent decades watching great event teams fight their own tools. We decided to build the platform we always wanted.
Who's behind this
25 years producing SXSW.
Our founder, Scott Wilcox, spent 25 years at SXSW, 14 of them as CTO and five as Chief Innovation Officer. He co-founded SXSW Eco. After a decade watching event teams duct-tape Eventbrite to Mailchimp to spreadsheets, he built Janix because the tool he wanted did not exist.
The rest of the team has run operations, technology, and marketing at events from 500 people to 50,000. We have sent the 4am email to a sponsor. We watched the wifi drop at check-in. Every product decision here is made by someone who has been on the other side of the door.
Why Janix
One platform, not a dozen tools.
Most events run on a stack that does not talk to itself: ticketing here, email there, a spreadsheet for the guest list, another for sponsors. The data never connects, so the insight never comes. Janix is one platform for ticketing, check-in, programming, CRM, marketing, and analytics. Everything shares the same data, so the work compounds. Your second event should know what your first event learned.
What Janix is
An event platform and an audience platform.
Janix Event Suite runs the event: ticketing and passes, the program and the schedule, speakers, sponsors, the box office and the door. That part is ordinary event software, and it has to be good or nothing else matters.
The second half is the reason the company exists. Every purchase, every check-in and every campaign response lands on one contact record that belongs to your organization, not to an event. The record survives the event. So does the relationship. A year later you are not buying back an audience you already had.
That is the whole argument. Disconnected event tools create disconnected audiences. One platform produces one audience, and the audience is the asset.
How we work
Three things we will not do.
We do not stand between you and your attendees. Your event site carries your branding, and your event is the only thing on it. Payments run through Stripe Connect into your own Stripe account, so you are the merchant of record — your payouts, your rules.
We do not hold your data hostage. Full contact export is available at every tier, deliberately. If you leave, you leave with the audience you built. A platform that keeps your list is not a platform, it is a hostage negotiation.
We do not sell you a capability we have not built. Every claim on this site is checked against the code before it ships. When something is close but not finished, we say that instead.
