Janix or Cvent, for your conference.

Cvent sells to event planners, marketers and hotels. Janix Event Suite runs your conferences, festivals and the events around them, and keeps the audience they produce.

Cvent is often the right answer.

Cvent was founded in 1999. It says it has more than 34,000 customers, including 89% of the Fortune 100. Beyond registration and the event app, it offers venue sourcing through the Cvent Supplier Network, hotel room blocks through Passkey, onsite check-in and badging through OnArrival, and support from a client services team of more than 1,800 people.

If you run hundreds of meetings across a company, or you need venue sourcing and room blocks in the same system as registration, Cvent is built for that. Janix Event Suite does not source venues or manage room blocks.

Cvent quotes each customer, so we do not list its prices here. Ask Cvent for a quote, and compare it with ours.

One licence, or licensed modules.

Cvent sells two packages. On Professional you license only the solutions you need; Enterprise includes all of them. Cvent’s terms set usage limits in each order form, and usage over those limits is charged.

Janix Event Suite is one annual licence for the plan. Meeting, the entry plan, includes registration and ticketing, the program and the call for papers, sponsors and exhibit booths, check-in and badges, email campaigns and your event website. There is no fee for each registrant, no implementation fee, and no cap on registrations or events.

Where the audience lives after the event.

Cvent adds each new registrant to its Address Book as a contact, and connects to the systems you already run. Its marketplace lists an app for iMIS, for example, a common association management system.

Janix Event Suite keeps one record per person across every event and every year: what they bought, whether they showed up, and the email they received. Segments and reporting work from that record, and you can export the whole of it at every tier.

Janix is not an association management system. It does not manage dues or your member database of record. If your AMS is the system of record for members, it stays that way.

Every kind of meeting, or the events that build an audience.

Cvent builds for event planners, for marketing teams and for hotels and venues. It markets to associations too, and says it has more than 4,200 association and non-profit customers.

Janix Event Suite is built for organizations that run recurring events where the audience matters past the closing night: an annual meeting, a user conference, a festival, and the events around them. The program, the exhibit hall, the door and the audience run on one platform. Janix was founded by Scott Wilcox, who spent 25 years at SXSW.

Choose on what you run.

If you run hundreds of meetings across a company, or you need venue sourcing and room blocks with your registration, look at Cvent. If your association or organization runs a flagship conference or festival each year, plus the events around it, and you want every one of them to build the same audience, that is what Janix Event Suite is for.

The statements about Cvent on this page come from Cvent’s own pages, checked on 16 October 2026: company, pricing, terms of use, products, association solutions and contacts.
